Evektor presents a range of innovative electric drive axles for small vehicles
Kunovice - March 5, 2014 – Evektor, spol. s r.o. will introduce a comprehensive range of electric drive axles TAPIO at the trade fair AMPER 2014 in Brno. These products will be exhibited at booth No. 2.40 in Hall F, including their application in the form of electric vehicle.
Development of the electric drive axles fits into the overall philosophy of the company EVEKTOR - to bring innovative solutions and advanced technologies which are associated with economical operation and environmental friendliness.
“Electric drives and electric vehicles represent an obvious trend of the future. That is the reason Evektor decided to develop a unified range of universal electric drive axles which are currently missing on the market. Our goal was to offer a wide range of drives which can be used for small machinery such as handling equipment or for small vehicles such as golf carts. After surveying the available options regarding axle drives, we decided to develop our own technically innovative drive, equipped with microprocessor control and electric energy recovery system, in cooperation with experts from Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication of Brno University of Technology. The result of several years of efforts of the development team is a compact and energy-efficient drive system,“ said head of TAPIO development team Ing. Miroslav Běhávka.
“EVEKTOR is known for its advanced technical solutions and emphasis on new technologies. The result of the development efforts of TAPIO team responds to the global trend of ecological transportation while offering economical, robust and compact design solution,“ said the executive director of Evektor Ing. Václav Zajíc, MBA.
TAPIO represents a comprehensive range of unified electric drives for vehicles from the smallest ones to the vehicles with a maximum performance 6 kW at nominal supply voltage up to 48 V. The drive axles are designed as monoblocks with power electronics with an optional feature of energy recovery during braking. CAN bus can be used to monitor and set parameters of the drive axle. The drive unit, which is based on switched reluctance motor, features high torque during start of the vehicle from a standstill and efficient cooling, especially at low speeds. The principle used for the electric motor does not require permanent magnets for its operation, thus saving production costs and increasing robustness of the drive. The drive axles TAPIO are characterized by a compact design, low production costs and environmental friendliness.
Evektor, spol. s r.o. was founded in 1991 and belongs to the leading design and development firms in the Czech Republic. The company specializes mainly in development and design activities in aviation and automotive industries. EVEKTOR currently also profiles as a pioneer in the field of electric drives for airplanes and small vehicles.
Project No. TA01011060 „TAPIO“ is carried out with the financial support of TA ČR.
